My Power Mall Business Review

Ok I am sure this My Power Mall Review post is going to get me a load of hate mail, however I can not stand to sit back and watch all of these people waste their time any longer.

AS with any business, you have the people who work the business very hard and fail and you have the people who are brainwashed into thinking they are going to make a 6 figure income. The ones who truly believe all of the garbage the CEO of a company puts out are generally the ones who get very defensive and angry when the truth or ones opinion is stated.

So with that sai, here is my opinion and review of the My Power Mall opportunity.

People ask me all of the time if I think My Power Mall is a scam. To be honest it is not what I would call a scam, but I would say it is not a straight up opportunity, simply because My Power Mall wants you to think that you join this business for free and make this great income, that no one really will ever see.

Claims are made that people can make $4000 a month easily, and that is as far from the truth as telling you I am sitting in my million dollar mansion typing this email on a $200,000 PC.

The presentation given to people who seek info on the My Power Mall business is deceptive and leads people into thinking they can start their own business from home and make a great income.

What is My Power Mall?

In a simple answer… My Power Mall claims to be an opportunity that will allow people to share My Power mall is nothing more than a website that is full of affiliate links. That website is replicated for all My Power Mall associates. When people order from those websites My Power Mall makes a commission and then My Power mall claims to give associates a % of what they profited.

The company claims they are not a MLM business, yet associates are paid on tiers, just like the MLM system. Now, I do not think that is a bad thing becuase you can make a great income in MLM if you are involved with an Ethical company with a good comp plan. I am only stating that to show you how the deception begins.

So how do My Power Mall associates make money? Well they are encouraged to share their mall website with family and friends and also encouraged to recruit new associates. When people make purchases from their websites they are offered a TINY commission.

Associates who spend $150 a month on their My Power Mall websites will earn….. ARE YOU READY FOR THIS? I NEED A DRUM ROLL HERE, THESE NUMBERS ARE GOING TO KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF.

$.69. No that is not $69, it is $.69. Yes I mean CENTS.

If that excited you, I am sorry but you apparently do not realize that you will never make any real money with this business.

That does not even equal 1% commissions.

The only way associated can make more than that is to recruit.

Since the business is set up on tiers you will need to fill many levels to see any exciting income here.

On Tier 2 if you have 10 people each spending $150 that will generate $1.41for a total of $14.10. That would equal $1500.00. Again, that total of $14.10 profit does not even equal 1% commissions.

On Tier 3 you need to have 100 people generating spending $150 that will generate $2.85 each for a total of $285 a month. That would equal $15,000 a month needed in sales to make $285.

Now, your average person who starts a home based business will never even have 100 customers. Ok, so some heavy hitters will so, lets look at the next set for income.

On Tier 4 you need 1000 people spending $150 to generate $3.56 for a total of $3560.00.

Now, if you are not family with ,multi levels so far, in order to make the income I just stated, you need to have 10 people on tier 2, 100 people on tier 3, and 1000 people on tier 4. That would mean you need a total of 1110 people in your downline to make any where near $4000 a month.

Point blank people are not going to be able to get 100 people spending $150 a month much less over 1000. No marketer in their right mind would bust their ass to make barely nothing.

In order to fill the tiers, you will need money. YEP, becuase you will need to be able to advertise. Good advertising cost money and in my opinion anyone would be crazy to spend their hard earned money advertising an opportunity to make nickels and dimes.

Most home businesses with products offer $20-50% commissions! My Power Mall is no where near that.

So, to close this up, if you want shop online, you would profit more from ordering off rebate websites than to order via a my power mall site. I would rather shop online and save money right then instead of having to waste my time talking other people into doing the business just to make a few cents.

You may get a rebate, once you are owed more than $25. Go back up and look at the numbers. You need 10 people each spending $150 on your 2nd tier to make $14.10. So, you would not even get a check for those sales, you would be required to repeat the same thing again next month.

I personally know several people who have extensive background in network marketing who took a look at the business and laughed. I also know several stay at home moms who were sucked into the My Power Mall business opportunity who have spent many hours on the business and never made a dime.

I have NEVER found anyone that is an associate who has even made $100!

I would tell anyone looking into My Power Mall as a serious business to not even waste their time. There is not enough revenue for the time it will take to promote. You would be better off joining a bunch of affiliate programs and just having your friends order from your affiliate links and you would make more money because you would be 100% of the profit instead of the tiny % My Power Mall offers associates.

MLM is NOT a Scam

I am so sick and tired of hearing people talk about MLM being scam businesses. Multi-Level marketing is the same exact thing as Direct Sales, yet no one ever questions direct sales companies.

That is right. Your company may call it direct sales, party plans, mlm, network marketing, or even consumer direct marketing. No matter how you word it, they all do the same thing! Sell products or services and all bring new people into the business to gain bonuses and additional commissions.

ANY time you earn money from a downline you are paid on MULTI levels! Which is the exact same concept behind Multi Level Marketing. You make money from different levels.

Any company can be a scam! I have saw many many direct sales businesses come and go just as quick as mlm companies. Anyone remember, Scrap In A Snap, the scrapbooking party plan/direct sales company? What happened to them? They were billing reps and never sending products! They were paying reps with bad checks! I mean the list goes on. That company was classified as a direct sales business and they did scam many people, not just the reps, but the companies manufacturing their products!

People have the misconception that mlm is a scam. MLM is not a pyramid, it is nothing more than a company who has Distributors, Independent Business Owners, Franchise Owners, Consultants, Independent Agents, etc. to sell products or services and earn additional sales commissions based on the sales of people enrolled into their downline.

That is the same exact thing people do in direct sales, network marketing, consumer direct marketing, ect. They are paid based on their sales and others in their downlines!

I even see people who join mlm companies who are not successful turn around and call that company a scam. Just because you did not have success with a business opportunity, does not make it a scam. As with any business, success does not come over night.

Multi-level marketing has an image issue due to the fact that it is often difficult to distinguish MLM’s from illegal schemes.

From The BBB Website….
Multi-level marketing, a direct sales system, is a well-established, legitimate form of business. Many people have successfully sold the products of reputable companies to their neighbors and co-workers. These people are independent distributors who sell popular products and also recruit other distributors to join them.

That is from the BBB website! Now, a scam can happen in any kind of company, regardless of what they are classified as. A business is only as good as the people around it, but MLM is not a scam!!!!!!!!! Perhaps some people in MLM businesses are not honest, but that do not make every MLM company a scam.  Hell I have known people from different types of businesses be liars to gain a new downline member, but that does not make the entire industry a scam.

That is like saying all car dealerships are a scam. Come on now, how many people do you know who have in some way been burned from car salesmen and car dealerships? I personally know many! That does not make all car salesmen scammers.

This is a subject that really pushes my buttons bad! I have been with direct sales companies and companies that are labeled multi level marketing and they all are set up the same commission wise. You make your money from what you sell and what your group sells!

Therefore, there is nothing about mlm that is a scam! Sure some mlm companies may have been scams, but there have beem direct sales business scams as well. A few bad seeds can not ruin it for the legit ones!

SMC Business Review

The last several years I have done massive amounts of research on work at home opportunities to see just for myself what works and what does not. What work at home opportunities stack-up to be what they claim to be. I have found lots of legit at home money making opportunities and also found lots of down right scam opportunities. After my research is done, I use the info I have to form an opinion on the business ethics and money making opportunity. My opinion is then used to let others know of my findings.

Keep in mind, I never base my opinion just on the fact someone said it was a scam. Simply because often people claim “scam” because the business did not work for them. Just because a business is not right for
someone does NOT make it a scam.

So, this week I want to talk about the so called SMC opportunity that is advertised all over the internet and on late night infomercials.

So..What’s the scoop on SMC?

I learned about the SMC opportunity about 2 years ago, at about 2am on a late nite infomercial. That should have been the first warning or red flag. They are advertising on TV in the middle of the night with those paid actors and BS testimonials. But I figured I would do a little digging before I formed an opinion.

The SMC company is based out of Fontana, California and they are actually a wholesaler of lots of products. Their opportunity they advertise is your source for dropshipping basically. You sell their stuff online, out of a catalog or on an auction site. When you have orders, you place them with SMC and they ship right to your customers.

It sounds real nice, but really there is a catch to the great opportunity they offer.

#1- In order to use them as your wholesaler you MUST become a member. Since when did you have to pay a membership for wholesale orders? Well, this is because unlike real wholesale companies that require a business license and resale certification, they do not require it.

Currently they sell 2 different membership plans. The GOLD PLAN for $299.95 or the The SILVER PLAN for a payment of $24.95. The silver plan then requires eleven additional monthly payments of $39.95, charged the same day of the month thereafter, total $479.40.

Their advertisements claim you can start your own home business for $24.95, when in fact you can NOT. You can get started for $24.95, but they fail to tell you that you will be required to make monthly payments for an additional 11 months.

The agreement also states, the membership includes updated catalogs, price lists and more, mailed twice a year for an annual renewal fee of $44.95 charged automatically to your account. So there is another $44.95 tacked on, that they forget to mention. (Thank goodness I am the queen of reading the small print)

They also do not tell you that when you do join, they do everything in their power to sell you on their website packages. Yes, I understand websites are important and would not expect any company to just give me one, but I also do not expect to be robbed blind in the process. So, their “coaches”, try everything in their power to get you to order a website, which are WAY over priced. $3000-$6000 to be exact.

You have 4 options for websites. Again, another catch, in order to have access to every product you must purchase the most expensive option.

THEN, they hit you for hosting, which is way to expensive, a domain name for $35 a year. Who pays $35 for domain names except people who have no clue you can get them for $9.00. Again, they are preying on people who are not aware of these things thinking they are getting a good deal.

Here comes another fee. Once a year they charge $199 for software updates!

And yet another. When you order the website, they then want you to purchase their search engine submission package at $299 a year and then their SEO package at $499 a year.

As you can see this $29 business has now turned into a HUGE investment.

#2- Your business coach is a salesperson. In everything I have found, the business coach they “claim” everyone gets only tries to sell you on more services. I have yet to find anyone saying their business coach actually helped with learn anything.

#3- Poor quality products. I have saw many products from their catalog, and in my opinion every thing I saw was poorly made. I have yet to see anything that I would use or have in my home.

While doing some research and talking to people I got not ONE good thing sad about these people. Here are just a few comments..

Once you become a member of SMC you are pretty much stuck with no money return! I was supposed to pay just $149.99 to get started, ended up spending $399.99 for the membership and kit. If you try to cancel, it goes against your credit. I am now out over $3,000.00 that they took out of my account. I have nothing now but a few hundred dollars left. I had to cancel my Debit Card so that they couldn’t take any more of my bank account. SMC tell’s me that I still owe them money, around $1300.00, How can this be?

I just joined and already having major problems. I can’t get my questions answered just on the basics, without my coach trying to sell me something.

You will make a verbal agreement on the phone based on promises of riches and you’ll end up dancing with the devil on the phone, talking to 10 or more employees, being put on hold, being transferred abruptly to a prerecorded message that you’ve already heard, and finally, if you’re lucky and you bark and growl long enough – you might get to talk to someone with power who gives you usable information.

In closing I will say that the work at home opportunity offered by SMC is very misleading and dishonest. I personally can not stand a liar, and I myself requested their info package and saw exactly what they promote as their make money opportunity.

In my findings, I have not found anyone that is making any money at all. Everyone has invested and invested until there is no more money to invest. The point of starting a home business is to make money, NOT go broke trying to make it.

Do they really offer whole catalogs? YES

Do they really offer a business you can start for under $25? NO
