Weekend Work At Home Mom
Being a work at home mom has been great for me in many ways. I do however find myself working way to much some days. Since I do work from home it is easy to just want to keep working until something is done. Before I know it some days it is late.
I know many other work at home moms who are the same way. It seems like becuase we are at home and just so happen to work from home, it makes it easy to work way to much.
I have had a goal for ever to cut down my work hours, which I have, however I still find myself working to much some days. I also have another goal of increasing my income. So, I have to come up with a way I can increase my income but still not work as much.
Sunday has always been our family day. We typically spend the entire day just doing things with our 4 children. Saturday is normal the relax day for Mr. V and I do find myself on the PC way to much.
I need some time for me as well. I enjoy scrapbooking, yet never find the time to play any more.
I have honestly spent allot of time working to grow my business and has worked very hard to get my business where it is today. I do not want to work as much in the future, so I have worked very hard the last several years.
I was reading a post over at Writing Thoughts, where Laura talks about the same thing…. the workaholic.
Working so much is a way to get burnt out. It may take some time, but you will eventually burn yourself out. I have not got to that point, but I am tired some days.
Running a business full time, being a mom full time and a wife full time is a hard job!
I have decided from now on that I will work M-F only. If I can not finish what I need done by Friday, it will have to wait until Monday. Maybe I will do some blog hopping on Saturday when the kids are in bed, but have made a pack with myself not to work the weekends any more. Anything I have to do, can wait until Monday.
How about you? Do you work on the weekends? Do you find it easy to be a workaholic since you have a home business?

I found your blog on google and read a few of your other posts. I just added you to my Google News Reader. Keep up the good work. Look forward to reading more from you in the future.

Hi Tara!
Thanks for the link!
I typically work Monday through Friday with a half day on Saturday. I try to do computer-free Sundays - but I am not always successful.
I’m preparing to spend a week just resting, though. I’m really looking forward to that.
I think that your pact is a good idea. Sometimes just drawing a line and sticking to it is what it takes.

Yes, Sunday is our family day, we spend doing things with our little monsters. A week resting sounds good! However, I might would have PC withdraws!

I have the hardest time pulling myself away from the computer! I try to not work on weekends, but if it’s just a lazy day..I always find myself setting here getting “work” done. Not that I don’t really do work, but it’s always stuff that could absolutely wait until Monday or even Thursday..lol.
I don’t let it replace family time, but I sure could be on here a few hours less per week.

Hi SuperWAHM,
I know the feeling! These computers are dangerously addictive, especially for someone who is determined to do something. My husband has a home based business as well and he does not use the PC much at all. He always makes jokes that he is going to call the internet company and have them shut the internet off every weekend!

I only work on the weekends right now as my boys are young and not in school yet. Once they get older I am definitely going to have to free up the weekends so that I can do family time with everyone. But for now it works.
P.S. I have an award waiting for you over at my blog!
