They have their reps receive a higher % for each new customer, plus the commission on that sale. This has worked out great for the 5 new shops I now have. The orders ship directly to the stores, and LaNell Candle CO. emails me when it has shipped, and I check on the store after delivery. They also give residual income for each order the store places. Reps do of course have to call/ check up on these accounts. I could not be happier, and the products seem to sell themselves. I am glad to have found something that I truely am happy to do. As for the business side of it, before becoming a consultant, ask yourself these questions: will the compensation plan pay out what I need for my financial goals? Can I retail the products for at least 40-60% cash upfront profits or do I have to wait for a commission check? Are the monthly quotas too high for me incase of an emergency? Can I build a team of other reps for residual income and walk away and still collect my checks? These are all questions to ask yourself and research before you put all of your time and energy into something thay may not be a fit for you in a couple months because of stressful deadlines.
