Small Business Goal Setting
This is our 4th post about setting goals for your home business. I hope everyone who has been following these posts have felt motivated to sit down and take some time to create a goal sheet and really be able to meet any goals you have for your business.
Goals needs to be laid out if you truly want to accomplish them. Goal setting should use used in all of your business planning. Setting specific goals will help you set your business up for success.
Anything you wish to accomplish for your business can be used as a goal to meet. Such as, getting your home office organized, having more sales for your online store, or even working less hours in a set amount of time. Once you know exactly what your goals are you can begin to work on, how you will reach those goals.
When you set goals for your home business you will make a commitment to any challenges you may be facing and will find correcting them easier.
I have found two nice little printable goal sheets online. Goal Sheet One and Goal Sheet Two.Take a minute to download them and print them off. Use them as your goals setting guide for weekly goals or even year long goals you have for your business.
Most of the goals I set for 2007 I have been able to accomplish! Honestly I used to have a hard time reaching my goals until I really started writing all of my goals down and writing down what I needed to do to reach those goals. That gave me something to look at when I felt discouraged or when I needed a pick me up!
As 2008 approaches quickly, I have already began working on my 2008 business goals.
My main goals for 2008 are…..
To work 15 hours less per week. Currently I do work full time. True, I work from home, but I would like to work less hours and make the same amount of money.
In order for me to be able to do that, I know I need to be able to cut 2 1/2 hours per day out of my working time. A few ways I have thought of to do that will be, hiring a virtual assistant to help with emails, proposals, article marketing and press releases. That alone will save me at least 7 hours per week if not more.
To find ad’s I can use monthly that generate good results. I do allot of online advertising for my businesses, so I do advertise online allot. If I can find either a few better sites to advertise on or a few that will generate the same amount of traffic to my sites as my current ad’s are sending I can probably increase my sales by at least 40% or so.
In order to do that, I need to start talking with other’s about what ad’s they run and what sites they have found to be the best. I also need to start looking over new forums and doing research on new advertising options.
So, what are you business goals for 2008? Leave me a comment and let me know! I am sure everyones goal list will help motivate other home business owners in setting their goals and accomplishing them!
